Mural FAQs
Do You Travel To Paint?
Yes! Travel costs can be incorporated into the overall project fee. Limited availability for international travel.
How Long Does a Mural Typically Take?
Timing depends on several factors like overall size, detail and coverage of art design, weather (if outdoor), surface material and artist availability.
Most artwork takes an average of 5 days to install on site after artwork is approved.
Note: If custom artwork is desired, a separate timeline for concept art approval will be established, which typically averages 2 weeks.
What Kind of Paint Do You Use?
Most often, using spray paint is the most effective and efficient use of time and materials when the project space is outdoors or well ventilated.
When art needs to be installed inside and around customers or residents, exterior grade bucket paint is applied with brushes.
In many cases, a UV top coat can be applied to preserve art color and protect it from tagging. Meg will work with you to determine if this step is helpful in your project.
How Much Does a Mural Cost?
Mural artwork cost is dependent on several factors like dedicated time, overall surface area coverage of the project, detail, materials, environment, equipment needed, etc.
Highly customized pieces tend to take more time to develop and cost more.
Large scale artwork is similar to any other artwork, like commissioning a canvas. In most cases, you will own this artwork and it is considered a valued asset, which is important to consider when budgeting for your art.
